Ju Jitsu training very physical but because of the controlled way it is practised injuries are very rare. Every black belt at Optimal Martial Arts is trained in first aid and are fully DBS cleared. It takes a lifetime to learn, as there is no limit and you are constantly learning. But to give you a rough idea, with regular training you should learn enough to achieve your first belt in around 4 month.
We currently have classes on a Tuesday & Friday evenings from 7.30pm - 9.00pm. Some students attend both sessions, while others train once a week.
Our current training fees are £5 per session and we don't see that increasing anytime soon. In the 18 years the club has been running the price has only increased by £1 that was in 2018.
If you wish to compete we have two tournaments a year within the association (WYSOK). One in May and one in November. We do encourage all students that are able to compete but we never force them, it will always be your decision.
We do not charge a fee to join the club, however if you decide to continue training after the first 4 weeks we would ask you to get a martial arts licence, this also includes insurance. The cost of this is £25 for the year.
